Curve balls hit us when we least expect it. And when it does, what’s next? Our families, friends, loved ones are all going to be affected. An elderly friend of mine had no insurance coverage and had a faulty blood valve near his heart. Upon seeking medical attention, his family was asked to raise RM45,000 immediately for a surgery.
Devastated, his daughter came to me for help and we managed to raise RM2,500 and was looking to raise more. Alas, as the cash was deposited into his account, it was already too late. He had already passed away.
This incident left a deep impression on me and got me thinking what would have been his situation if he had the money to commence the surgery immediately. Surely, something could’ve been done!
